At Gentherm, we believe that engineering is a collective force, and the most meaningful progress happens when we work together. This year, in celebration of International Women in Engineering Day<\/em> and its theme \u201cTogether we Engineer,\u201d we\u2019re proud to highlight the voices of women across our global teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We asked some of our global engineers to answer questions about teamwork, proud career moments and the influence of mentors. From overcoming technical challenges to lifting each other up, each story reveals the impact of collaboration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie Johnson | Quality Engineer II | Cincinnati, United States<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie devotes every step in her journey at Gentherm to teamwork and collaboration. From refining processes to enhancing the quality of medical products, the collective effort has been her anchor and her inspiration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She credits Gentherm\u2019s culture for making this possible. \u201cWorking alongside a company that values teamwork and collaboration gives me a reason to be excited to come to work!\u201d That enthusiasm radiates through her work and reminds us how energizing true collaboration can be. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Manali Patel | Product Engineer | Novi, United States<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCollaborating with cross-functional teams has accelerated my technical development,\u201d says Manali. Whether she\u2019s designing for cost, durability, or manufacturability, the collaborative process helps her align technical decisions with big-picture strategy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She recalls how one intense vehicle validation phase almost went off track due to a sudden customer requirement. \u201cThrough intense collaboration with cross functional teams, we identified a solution, validated it, and implemented it within days.\u201d That experience of turning a potential failure into a success remains one of her proudest moments as an engineer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manali is also deeply inspired by a fellow female engineer who \u201cled by example\u2014balancing technical depth with strategic thinking.\u201d What stood out wasn\u2019t just her problem-solving ability, but her talent for uplifting others. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Valeriia Hychka | Industrial Engineer | Vynohradiv, Ukraine<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking back, she reflects on a moment that defined her career: \u201cIt was the combined effort, support, and mutual understanding within the team that helped us overcome all challenges and achieve our goal.\u201d She sees that experience as proof of what\u2019s possible when trust and synergy lead the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also speaks fondly of a fellow female engineer whose example continues to inspire her. \u201cHer enthusiasm, perseverance, and collaboration skills made a significant impact on my professional growth\u2026 I am grateful for her support and collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rozita Mirceska | Technical Expert, Global Process Owner, PFMEA | Prilep, North Macedonia<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rozita discovered that one of the greatest gifts of teamwork is self-awareness. \u201cDuring working in a team, learning comes from each member’s experience,\u201d she says. It\u2019s this constant exchange of learning, doing, and observing that\u2019s helped her recognize her own strengths and understand those of others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen you combine [strengths and weaknesses] in such a way that they complement each other,\u201d she explains, \u201cwe achieve a common goal\u2014effective teamwork.\u201d For Rozita, growth isn\u2019t just individual; it\u2019s shared. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Cimmy Guo | Senior Product Engineer | Langfang, China<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cimmy sees teamwork as a transformative force. In her words, collaboration has the power to shift a project \u201cfrom single-point breakthrough to systematic construction\u2026 from linear thinking to collision of multiple perspectives\u2026 from technical executor to comprehensive talent.\u201d Cimmy has seen this power firsthand within her team when they were honored with the title of \u201cBest Supplier\u201d by a customer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When reflecting on the contributions of fellow female engineers, she points out their thoughtful execution: \u201cFemale engineers focus on details, consider things thoroughly, and facilitate smoother cross-departmental collaboration.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ilka Eckert | Engineering Manager, Requirements | Treuchtlingen, Germany<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy degree in plastics engineering did little to prepare me for such products at a technical level,\u201d Ilka admits, reflecting on the complex electro-pneumatic systems she works with today. But the collaboration and patience of some highly appreciated senior engineers and experts helped her build the understanding she needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her systems knowledge, from Polarion to ASPICE, comes from cross-functional experience, cultivated over years of teamwork. Ilka\u2019s philosophy is that \u201cteamwork and thinking outside the ‘department’ box are the keys to success.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

Yousra Assadiki | NPI\/APQP Engineer | Tangier, Morocco<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTeamwork and collaboration had helped me on my onboarding,\u201d says Yousra, \u201cand is still helping me to go through my tasks easily.\u201d Her career so far has been guided by support, efficiency, and the steady rhythm of strong teamwork. \u201cFor me, in the engineering department, all the work is done efficiently and successfully only by teamwork,\u201d she adds, underscoring how collaboration is not just helpful\u2014it\u2019s essential. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
