To address the challenge of delivering comforting heat and ventilation to rearward passengers in large EV SUVs, Gentherm developed the CCI Footwell Heating solution. Featuring a micro air moving device, PTC heater, temperature sensor and integrated smart control unit, this technology creates localized footwell microclimates, reducing vehicle weight and auxiliary HVAC energy drain.
